After effects of vertigo? Maybe VRT is required?

What are the after-effects of vertigo? I initially had a very bad vertigo attack driving home on the highway - it was detected to be an ear infection which cleared up eventually but since then, I've had little bouts of vertigo if that's what you wanna call them.
