Open reduction of 5th metacarpal with plate

I'm scheduled to have this procedure done on Monday. I was planning on traveling abroad on Saturday for 2 weeks. My doctor gad no problems with me traveling but I would have to arrange a follow up visit. My other choice was to postpone my trip for 3 days so he could follow up himself.
