Strange bumps on tongue possibly hpv?

A few months ago I noticed some strange bumps forming on the back of my tongue. After a while I noticed a diminished ability to taste and the center of my tongue became red and smooth. The doctor waive it off as nothing but four or five months later they have only gotten worse. I was diagnosed with genital warts about two years ago but haven't had an outbreak since.
