Costochondritis?

I've been having stabbing pains in my chest, shoulder and ribs on the left side for about a month now. I went to the doctor and they did an ECG, blood tests (including D-Dimer) and chest x-ray. Nothing came up in any of these tests and they told me it's costochondritis. I've been taking prescription anti-inflammatory pills and they don't work at all.
