Lump under jaw?

A friend of mine is staying over and I noticed something under his jaw right above his neck. I'll let him explain it: I have this weird lump under my jaw. I had it for a year or 2 but it just got bigger. I stayed outside in the cold with shorts on yesterday so I'm guessing its because I have a cold?
